Hi, I’m Jason Spalding.

Leaders don’t set the rules.
They set the emotional temperature.

Most don’t realize how much they’re shaping it.

You feel it the moment you walk into a room.

Not in what’s said.
In what isn’t.

Conversations tighten.
People filter.

Truth gets edited before it ever lands.

Nothing is said.
But everything is understood.

That’s Ethra.

The emotional environment people operate inside
before performance ever shows up.
Before people speak.
Before trust is tested.

Psychological safety determines whether people speak.

Ethra determines whether anyone ever feels safe enough to try.

When Ethra weakens, something more dangerous happens.

The truth doesn’t get debated.

It never enters the room.

And when truth disappears, performance follows.

This is where my work lives.

I help organizations see what is happening beneath the surface
and change how leadership, behaviour, and structure actually function together.

So people don’t just show up.

They contribute.
They challenge.
They move.

My perspective was not built in theory.

I’ve seen the same pattern show up
in environments where performance actually matters.

From representing Canada in track and field to coaching Olympians, national champions, professional athletes, Paralympians, and Special Olympics athletes

From correctional environments
to union representation
to executive leadership, helping grow a company from $30M to $60M in under 3 years

Different environments.
Same truth.

Performance is not driven by pressure.
It is shaped by the environment people are operating inside.

I hold an Executive MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, with a background in sociology, anthropology, and human resources.

But the most important lesson has never come from a classroom.

People do not just work inside organizations.

They live inside emotional environments.

Strengthen that environment,
and everything else becomes easier to build.
